Abstract

In the digital age, the API Economy, fueled by microservice architectures, is revolutionizing software development. Crucial to this transition is the Open API Specification (OAS) that standardizes API description of functional elements and has been complemented with extensions like SLA4OAI to define limitations for the API users, like qoutas or rates in a standard way. Building on this, the paper presents SLA-Wizard, a tool designed to automate API Gateway configurations; it supports four, widely used, proxies that are used in the Industry as API Gateways (Envoy, Nginx, HAProxy and Traefik). This paper presents the tool and highlights its effectiveness in managing API Proxy configuration and how it paves the way for enhancing their capabilities and systematic benchmarking.
