Abstract

Grammar is an essential component of language instruction. In the existing grammar learning applications, there are several aspects needed to improve, such as the cold start problem, fixed learning path, less effective learning videos, undifferentiated material presenting, and low-quality exercises. With the purpose of making some useful attempts, we have built a Chinese Grammar Smart Learning System (CVSLS). Through the initial assessment and pre-learning test, the system can identify the weak areas of learners. After taking the factors of grammar difficulty, arrangement pattern and learning condition into consideration, the system can provide for each learner a personalized learning path. Assisted by the well-designed videos and exercises, learners can better master grammar knowledge. In addition, the dynamically adjusted presentation of learning materials based on influence value and demand value can achieve a better learning experience and improve the learning efficiency.
