Abstract
In order to deepen students’ understanding of communication principles and improve their application skills after having learned the communication principles theoretical course, we propose a project-based learning case, building a voice-controlled visible light communication system. Through independent learning, application of multi-disciplinary knowledge and collaboration, a team of students complete a smart home model. Through this project-based learning experience, students apply theories learnt in lectures and gain a deeper understanding of basic communication principles.
