Conclusions

These two special issues contain sixteen papers covering all aspects of the HIPERLAN standard from the radio spectrum allocation, through antennas, modulation, equalisation, synchronisation, and channel access mechanism, to the higher level functions of data transfer. It is hoped that this special issue will act as a single point of reference for deeper insights into the thinking behind the HIPERLAN standard than can be gained from reading the standard itself.
