A simple procedure for optimal load dispatch using parametric programming

Abstract

The problem of optimal load dispatch (excluding unit commitment and network questions) is modeled as a parametric convex quadratic programming problem with the demand acting as parameter. Using simple mathematical techniques we solve this parametric program explicitly, thus providing an efficient tool for optimal looad dispatch when several levels of demand have to be met with a fixed configuration of generating units.

Zusammenfassung

Das Problem der optimalen Lastaufteilung (unter Ausschliessung der Auswahl einer optimalen Erzeugerstruktur und das Netzwerk betreffende Fragen) wird als parametrische konvexe quadratische Optimierungsaufgabe modelliert, wobei der Bedarf als Parameter eingeht. Durch Nutzung einfacher mathematischer Techniken lösen wir diese parametrische Optimierungsaufgabe explizit, wodurch eine effektive Methode zur optimalen Lastaufteilung gegeben ist, falls mehrere Bedarfswerte mit einer festen Erzeugerstruktur realisiert werden sollen.
