Robert T. Fortna, a professor of religion at Vassar College, is the author ofThe Gospel of Signs and various articles on the Gospel of John.

Margaret Hedstrom is a data archivist at the State Historical Society of Wisconsin and a doctoral candidate in U.S. history at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a co-author ofStatistics from Scratch (1977) andA Guide to Labor Papers in the State Historical Society of Wisconsin (1978), as well as the author of several articles on machine-readable records and archives.
