Managing the project of organization structure change by using a flexible tool

Abstract

Organizations have to face a rapidly changing business environment and market structure and the need for flexibility and organization structure changes often appears to be an imperative. Top management should identify the need within the strategic management framework and by committed to the change effort. The organization structure change process can be managed as a project, taking under consideration the importance of the human parameter and organizational culture and the necessity of detailed process analysis. A concept of a methodological project management tool is provided, to facilitate the organization structure change process. The tool can be tailored to different organizations and incorporates a progress metrics mechanism.
