Abstract
In this paper we present an outline of the project SPECTRUM based on the problem-oriented method which includes specification languages and knowledge bases. The bases consist of axioms, application strategies and procedures for proving of axiom premises. The axioms are conditional rewriting rules whose premises contain conditions and built-in case analysis. We describe the architecture and special features of the verification system oriented towards sorting, linear algebra and compilation.
