Abstract
The BCA research project, whose aim is to investigate the viability of Ada for the development of reusable software for avionics systems, is being carried out by a consortium of Spanish companies. A pilot component library has been built with this purpose. In addition to the usual abstract data structures and mathematical functions, navigation and executive components have been built. Some design decisions are discussed in the paper. Documentation and testing issues are also briefly dealt with.
This research was funded by contract No. 508/24/90 from the Subdirección General de Tecnología e Investigación, Ministerio de Defensa de España.
