Abstract
A parallel processor architecture is presented in this paper for the real-time engine and vehicle guidance control in a modern spacecraft. The system is designed to be fault-tolerant and will give diagnostic messages to aid repair. The architecture is based on the multiple shared bus concept. Multiple buses increase fault-tolerance and will enable computation of complex control equations within the required time frame. Each processor stage has a priority queue and any process that requires processing is inserted into the priority queue, if the current process under execution has a higher priority than the new process. Protocols are designed to run various routines on different processor stages under a prioritized system.
