Abstract

The ”Personal Services Communication Space” (PSCS) is a telecommunication service providing personal mobility. The users can initiate and receive calls on the basis of a personal network transparent number across multiple networks, at any terminal, fixed or mobile, irrespective of geographic location. This paper describes a performance study of the RACE project Mobilise for the personalization, mobilization and integration of advanced wide area network communication services. With the expected number of PSCS users, the impact on the signalling network could be dramatic. The paper presents the numbering scenarios for PSCS and the use of a Personal User Identity (PUI). Different distributions of the Intelligent Network entities and the impact on an existing SS-No.7 network and the call setup time have been studied.
