Abstract

A tuning machine, developed to tune the analog circuits in a micro-wave modulation circuit board, is presented. The machine's purpose is to tune the circuits automatically. This tuning is conventionally carried out by highly experienced workers. To choose the most appropriate trimmer resistance among the candidates which give good characteristics for the circuits, a method involving fuzzy logic is used.

To develop an appropriate process for choosing the trimmer, at first, the human experts' tuning know-how was utilized.

The prototype machine can tune the circuits within a specific time limit, which is almost equal to that employed by human experts.
