Abstract
A breakout group (from the Workshop on Software Engineering and Human-Computer Interaction of the IEEE 16th Annual Conference on Software Engineering) discussed the present and future of the intersection of SE and HCI with respect to evaluating user interfaces and user interface tools. The discussion probed many areas from both perspectives. A summary of areas that need attention within the two disciplines is presented.
