Abstract

This paper describes the practical issues and problems which exist in relation to the initial implementation of a centralised timetabling system in an large British civic University. A chronological documentation of procedures are detailed which are associated with the particular implementation strategy adopted by the University. It concludes by questioning whether centralised timetabling is a viable option taking into consideration the culture which inherently exists in such institutions.
