Abstract

This paper presents a formalism based on logic programming for modelling and reasoning about multidimensional information. It is supported by a rule-based system based on multidimensional logic. It can be used in applications such as multidimensional spreadsheets and multidimensional databases usually found in decision suport systems. In order to enhance the appreciation of representations and computations in the rule-based system, we also propose a flexible visual user interface (VUI) allowing the user to view and analyse a multidimensional object from different viewpoints.
