Abstract

This paper describes a load balance routine which has been developed for the NAG Parallel Library. This routine is designed for load balance problems where each task can be computed independently and allows the user to choose from a number of different load balance strategies. The benefits of this routine are discussed in terms of both performance and ease of use, and results are presented for a production RCS prediction code on a Cray T3D and a SGI Origin 2000.
