Abstract

This paper explores the usage of knowledge-based techniques to manage the Synchronous Digital Hierarchy network more efficiently in a multi-vendor environment, particularly enhancing the deployment and provisioning areas: shorter troubleshooting time, reduction in misalignments (which are caused by inadequate manual procedures), and mitigation of possible knowledge loss by downsizing. The proposed solution has been validated in an operational environment with a concept proof that has yielded with excellent results.
