Abstract
Based on the time series from 2003 to 2014, using entropy method, exploratory data analysis and geographically weighted regression model, the paper systematically analyzes the city–industry coordination development level and spatial pattern evolution of 285 prefecture-level cities in China, and finds the factors that affect its spatial distribution. The results show that the coordinated development level, coordination degree and coupling degree of the 285 cities of China show a clear upward trend and a significant spatial variation in 2003, 2008 and 2014. Indicators in the industry, urban coordination degree were rising, the population coordination degree showed a significant downward trend. The level of urbanization, informatization and city scale are the important factors that influence the harmonious development of the city–industry coordination, and its influence degree on different regions are significant.
