Abstract
The paper is devoted to teaching engineering subjects in the field of study “Restoration and renovation of architectural heritage.” It demonstrates the necessity of changing the existing approach to teaching engineering design and construction to renovation architects. Based on our experience of teaching Building mechanics, we have developed a new approach to teaching Design Basis of Engineering Restoration with the active application of advanced information technologies into teaching and learning activities. The paper provides our recommendations for curriculum planning; it explains time expenditures for studying the subject by semesters, presents topical programs for Design Basis of Engineering Restoration, and recommends methods of current and summative assessment of students’ knowledge.
