Generation of three-qutrit singlet states with trapped ions via adiabatic passage

Abstract

We propose a scheme for the preparation of three-qutrit singlet states with three long-life V-type trapped ions. An adiabatic-passage technique is used to keep the ion-phonon system within a subspace of dark states and let the center of mass mode virtually excited with the choice of a small detuning. Moreover, the numerical and experimental analysis shows that the scheme may be feasible based on current technologies.
