Compressed Channel Sensing using Designated Null Subcarriers in Full Duplex Wireless OFDM Systems

Abstract

In this paper, we examine the digital cancellation of self-interference in full duplex wireless orthogonal frequency division multiplexing systems. Since digital cancellation highly depends on the accurate estimation of self-interference channels, which tends to be sparse, we propose a compressed sensing based channel estimator that uses designated null subcarriers. Our numerical results show that, by providing more accurate estimates of self-interference channels, the proposed scheme outperforms the conventional least square methods in terms of the self-interference suppression.
