Zusammenfassung

Durch eine erfolgreiche Umsetzung von Digitalisierungsstrategien könne Europa, so eine Studie im Auftrag des Bundesverbandes der Deutschen Industrie, bis 2025 einen Zuwachs von 1,25 Billionen Euro an industrieller Bruttowertschöpfung erzielen. Blockchains werden in diesem Kontext zunehmend als vielversprechende Technologie zur Realisierung von Effizienz steigerungen in unterschiedlichen Anwendungsfeldern und Szenarien diskutiert. Der vorliegende Beitrag untersucht, welche Geschäftsmodelle bereits basierend auf der Blockchain-Technologie realisiert werden und welche wirtschaftlichen Potenziale hieraus resultieren. Schließlich werden die herausgearbeiteten Geschäftsmodelle in das abstraktere Konzept der mehrseitigen Plattformen eingeordnet.
