Abstract

The opinions and perceptions of coaches on matters that are related to skill set, team preparation, training of the athletes and general administration are essential. The analysis of the perception of coaches will help in improving the overall player preparation process. In this study, we design and validate the questionnaire on the skill set of the coach. The focus of the questionnaire is on the importance of physical education, agility, flexibility, endurance and strengthening in player preparation and their relation with effective sports management. The data is collected from 82 coaches in badminton sports across various states of India. The responses to the questionnaire are validated using reliability analysis. The results depict emphasis on the agility, flexibility, endurance and strength of a player in effective sports management. Based on the obtained results guidelines for enhancing player performance are provided to the sports management authorities.
