Abstract.

Object classification often operates by making decisions based on the values of several shape properties measured from an image of the object. This paper describes several algorithms (both old and new) for calculating ellipticity, rectangularity, and triangularity shape descriptors. The methods are evaluated by testing on both synthetic and real data.
