Avoiding Pairs of Partial Latin Squares

Abstract

We show that two partial latin squares of order mk are simultaneously avoidable if m > 4 and \({k>\frac{m^3(m^2-1)}{2}}\). If m = 4, we show the same conclusion when k > 56.
