Abstract

Silicon Austria Labs (SAL) is an Austrian research center for Electronic Based Systems (EBS). Located in Graz, Villach and Linz, SAL conducts research in the areas of sensor systems, radio frequency (RF) systems, power electronics, system integration technologies and embedded systems. It lays the foundation for intelligent products and processes in the areas of Industry 4.0, Internet of Things (IoT), autonomous driving, cyber-physical systems, smart city, smart energy or smart health. In various projects, SAL focuses on climate protection, e.g., the power electronics project called “Tiny Power Box”. This project focuses on the development of a bidirectional onboard charger for electric cars. Additionally, SAL runs “OptPV4.0”, a photovoltaic project, which optimizes the management of photovoltaic power plants.
