Abstract

: In this paper, a new set of affine moment invariants is proposed in the frequency domain. By thresholding the magnitude of the Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) of affine transformation-related images, new images which are also related by affine transformation are constructed. Then some affine invariant features in the frequency domain are obtained from the reconstructed images. Experimental results are given to show that the new affine invariants are less sensitive to noise and the recognition rate is increased when using both the available spatial domain and the proposed frequency domain affine moment invariants.
