Abstract

User Association (UA) is vital in dense mmWave networks to establish excellent link between Base Station (BS) and User Equipment (UE) with achievement of maximum throughput. Millimeter wave networks are highly directional and sensitive to channel variations. Process of user association alter these links which disturbs the network interference and user instantaneous rate. Load balanced user association scheme deal with transmission rate issue and network interference by Worst Connection Swapping (WCS) method. Even though reliable load balanced user association provided by WCS, it exhibit complexity to identify near optimal solution. This work plans to optimize user association scheme with Emperor Penguin optimization (EPO) algorithm to achieve best optimal solution along with reduction of computational complexity and cost. Iterative behaviour of proposed work optimizes computational complexity, delay and cost based on bandwidth constraints to provide impartial user allocation. The proposed mmWave communication model is implemented in Matlab and its performances are compared with other related works like load balanced UA, cluster based UA and equal power based UA. Thus, proposed work achieves 3.2 × 109 bits/s maximum throughput and 80 Mbps/Hz spectral efficiency than existing related works.
