The Linear Prediction Method of Fading Channel Estimation for the Rake Receiver with Impulsive Interference

Abstract

Parameter estimation of the multipath and fading channel is investigated for the Rake combiner used in a CDMA system with coherent demodulation. A linear predictor is proposed to obtain a better estimation. Since the industrial interference environment is generally impulsive, a parallel LMS adaptive algorithm is proposed to reduce the impact of impulsive noise on predictor weights adjustment. Performance analysis and computer simulations are presented.
