Abstract
Data from a large survey of graduates of the degree program “Information Systems” (Wirtschaftsinformatik) at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hannover opens a glance on their professional life in the first years after graduating. The results indicate a high job satisfaction of the alumni. However, limitations are visible partly due to the occupational culture within the IT profession. Work climate as well as work-life balance is perceived differently by men and women. The results show some hints how to reduce the shortage of professionals in the IT field.
