Abstract
This article considers the hierarchical control of inverter-based microgrids. Thereby, we discuss single microgrids in islanded mode as well as multiple microgrids coupled over power lines. We propose a secondary control scheme based on load estimation and output regulation for a single microgrid. This control scheme achieves stationary accuracy in frequency regulation and power sharing. To coordinate multiple coupled microgrids, we present a consensus-based tertiary control approach.
