Todays boundary conditions for in-house logistics require flexible, reconfigurable material handling systems which allow a quick system setup. Conventional intralogistic systems fulfill these requirements only partial. This paper introduces a new approach for a plug & work continuous conveyor fulfilling the requirements. Using decentralized control algorithms the system is able to generate routing information, to route conveying units and to avoid deadlocks without any central instance.
