Determining the optimal interval of the parameter identification of self-similar traffic

Abstract

Results of a study aimed at determining the optimal observation interval for the self-similar traffic in the switch/hub (after the end of which the decision is made regarding the control of the traffic or switch/hub parameters) are given. The entropy maximization method was used to determine the optimal interval.
