The QinQ + DHCP mode is used for solving problems such as Campus Network IP conflicts, ARP virus overflow, and Broadcasting excess flow. Therefore, this model is being adopted by a large number of colleges and universities. At present, many colleges and universities access IPv6 networks. However, some BRAS devices that focus on IPv4 applications do not support IPv6 addresses with stateful assignments. If stateless address allocation occurs, a large number of logical subinterfaces are often created, and many lines of command lead to low efficiency. This study aimed to investigate the practical significance of IPv4/IPv6-independent termination using the QinQ technology. In the QinQ architecture, a small BRAS device supporting the IPv6 address state assignment can be added, and the IPv4/IPv6-independent termination can be achieved using a virtual local area network transmission technology.
