Proto-editions: Historians and the "Something between digital image and digital scholarly edition"
Description
The presentation discusses the notion of a "Proto-edition" which combines a pure visual representation of text with a deep description skipping the transcription of the text. It relates it theoretical models like Patrick Sahle's text wheel (2013) and the use of artificial Intelligence for creating "artifical editions" (Stutzmann at IMC 2019).
