ABSTRACT
These DNA molecular visualizations were created for the multifaceted 'DNA' project, celebrating the 50th anniversary in 2003 of the discovry of the double helix. The 'DNA' project includes a five-part documentary series, museum film and online resources for teachers and students. The dynamics and molecular shapes were based on X-ray crystallographic models and other published scientific data sets. Leading scientists, including many Nobel Laureates, critiqued the animations during their development. Particular effort was made to ensure that relative shapes, sizes and 'real-time' dynamics were as accurate as possible. The primary system used for bulding the animations was Maya PaintFX. Molecular modeling of cationic porphyrin-anthraquinone hybrids as DNA topoisomerase II inhibitors
Display Omittedmono-H2PzP-AQ in the binding pocket of Topo Ii. The interaction between cationic porphyrin-anthraquinone hybrids and DNA Topoisomerase II is computationally investigated.MD simulation and binding free energy prediction were conducted. The ...
Molecular interactions of UvrB protein and DNA from Helicobacter pylori
Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) persevere in the human stomach, an environment in which they encounter many DNA-damaging conditions, including gastric acidity. The pathogenicity of H. pylori is enhanced by its well-developed DNA repair mechanism, ...
Toward molecular programming with DNA
ASPLOS '08Biological organisms are beautiful examples of programming. The program and data are stored in biological molecules such as DNA, RNA, and proteins; the algorithms are carried out by molecular and biochemical processes; and the end result is the creation ...
