Published:15 October 2004Publication History

ABSTRACT

The talk consists of two parts. In the first part, the author will present his view on the most interesting research issues in video surveillance and what new aspects will need to be considered in order to make significant progress in the field. Some of the ideas might be controversial. In the second part of the talk, the author will discuss his efforts to develop an Open Video Surveillance library. This effort has been started at Intel and is currently continued at the University of Augsburg.

The audience is more than cordially invited to make this presentation an open discussion. Whenever someone wants to speak because he/she highly disagrees with the speaker or has something else to contribute, he/she is encouraged by the speaker to do so.
