ABSTRACT
The tutorial T2: Designing and Implementing an Intelligent Ubiquitous Information System in Java at EUSAI 2004 introduces the concepts and tools necessary for the participants to develop intelligent agentbased information systems. The potent and flexible support vector machine learning algorithm -upon which the agents base their intelligence- is an integral part of the session. Most importantly, we demonstrate and explain how to use support vector machines to implement a ubiquitous distributed information system in Java. We include all the development tools and open source software needed for the participants to get started in this subject area.

PAC-Bayes bounds for twin support vector machines
Twin support vector machines are regarded as a milestone in the development of support vector machines. Compared to standard support vector machines, they learn two nonparallel hyperplanes rather than one as in standard support vector machines for ...
Multitask centroid twin support vector machines
Twin support vector machines are a recently proposed learning method for binary classification. They learn two hyperplanes rather than one as in conventional support vector machines and often bring performance improvements. However, an inherent shortage ...
Sparse pinball twin support vector machines
AbstractThe original twin support vector machine (TWSVM) formulation works by solving two smaller quadratic programming problems (QPPs) as compared to the traditional hinge-loss SVM (C-SVM) which solves a single large QPP — this makes the ...
Highlights- A novel twin support vector machine with sparse pinball loss (SPTWSVM) is proposed.
