This interesting article should be of value to chief information officers (CIOs) and upper-level managers, as they make decisions about implementing information technology solutions for their companies. The strategy developed is both timely and useful in determining the appropriateness of integrating emerging information technologies (EIT) in a company. The importance of EIT, namely competitive advantage, use by external entities, and supporting future business operations, may appear to be obvious, but sometimes eludes those whose day-to-day operations are tied up in the details of keeping business management systems operational. The secondary position of the technical alignment may upset some who do not realize that the success of the business is the primary goal of all aspects of the business, including the information technology staff. The article is well written and comprehensible, and includes simple and easy-to-understand figures and tables. Online Computing Reviews Service
