Problems in administrative leadership in the computer field

Published: 20 July 1964 Publication History

Abstract

Since I am going to discuss the problems of leadership in the computer field, it is important that I begin with a few words about myself and the computer installation with which I am associated. Who I am and where I come from has had a great influence on what I have observed. The RAND Corporation classifies me as a mathematician, although thanks to the intervention of Uncle Sam, my degree is in meteorology. I suppose that if careers in computing had been visible at the time I was in school, and if the war hadn't come along, I would have majored in mathematics.
