ABSTRACT
After hearing Mr. Sibley's intriguing paper, I found it necessary to rewrite my entire introduction. There are many similarities between his paper and mine. We both use a personal approach. We both are concerned with the need for more effective dialogue in the interview process. Neither of us present large volumes of data or calibrations. Both of us are concerned with drawing opinions from the applicants so that we can gain a view of their creative talents. There is, however, one major difference. Mr. Sibley is dealing with experienced programmers and, therefore, he can initiate his procedure just an hour or so before an interview. I am concerned with inexperienced people. If there is a warm-up problem for experienced people, it is ten times worse when we are dealing with inexperienced personnel just out of college. Therefore, I present my program to the applicant as much as a year or two before he comes in for the interview.
