ABSTRACT
The work described here discusses the analysis of images in port settings. As cargo containers are of specific colors, the hue information is being exploited to segment, identify and compress such video streams. A novel scheme using multiple processes has been developed. The first process is obtaining the vector angle between the RGB components which is used to segment images based on the color. The second process is the Hough transformation that is carried out on the vector angle result as well as a Laplacian of the saturation image. Using the Hough transform result on both the vector angle result and the Laplacian, various broken segments are connected effectively without adding redundancy. This information can then be used to detect corners and perform compression.

Efficient edge-preserving algorithm for color contrast enhancement with application to color image segmentation
In this paper, a new and efficient edge-preserving algorithm is presented for color contrast enhancement in CIE Lu^'v^' color space. The proposed algorithm not only can enhance the color contrast as the previous algorithm does, but also has an edge-...
Contrast Enhancement of RGB Color Images by Histogram Equalization of Color Vectors’ Intensities
Intelligent Computing MethodologiesAbstractThe histogram equalization (HE) is a technique developed for image contrast enhancement of grayscale images. For RGB (Red, Green, Blue) color images, the HE is usually applied in the color channels separately; due to correlation between the color ...
Bloodstain Segmentation in Color Images
RVSP '11: Proceedings of the 2011 First International Conference on Robot, Vision and Signal ProcessingThe identification of bloodstains in color images is critical in some accident investigation cases. A suspected bloodstain segmentation method was proposed in this study. The algorithm transforms the RGB to the YCgCr color space after the image ...
