Abstract
This study provides empirical support for the two-part claim that (a) people acquire modes of thinking and feeling in their day-to-day interaction with computing systems and (b) under some conditions, they transfer these modes of thinking and feeling to their interactions with people. It does so within the context of occupational socialization of adults, acquiring training and expertise in programming languages.
