Using structured and segmented data for improving data sharing on MANETs

Published: 23 June 2008 Publication History

Abstract

CDMAN (Collaborative Data Management in Ad hoc Network) is a data sharing middleware specially designed for MANETs (Mobile Ad hoc NETworks). In particular, it takes into account limited battery, memory and processing capacities of mobile devices (such as PDAs) that usually compose these networks. CDMAN uses several strategies to achieve this. One of these is the use of structured segmented data. This paper first presents the structure of CDMAN's data. Then, it analyses the benefits of this structure for sharing data on mobile nodes with limited capability devices.
