ABSTRACT
A novel marker-based system for augmented reality that measures not only the 3D positions and IDs of markers, but also the distribution of force vectors applied to the markers. Users can observe overlaid virtual images and control them with their fingers.

ARForce: a marker-based augmented reality system for force distribution input
ACE '08: Proceedings of the 2008 International Conference on Advances in Computer Entertainment TechnologyIn recent years, the use of augmented reality (AR) systems has become quite common. Many marker-based AR systems can input the positions of physical markers and realize a combination of real-world and computer-generated graphics. However, few systems ...
AoEs: enhancing teleportation experience in immersive environment with mid-air haptics
SIGGRAPH '17: ACM SIGGRAPH 2017 Emerging TechnologiesTo alleviate cybersickness in the immersive virtual reality (VR), teleportation is a common method of moving around in virtual spaces. Although users can receive the visual and auditory feedbacks from their first-person perspective with the advances of ...
Eye gaze in virtual environments: evaluating the need and initial work on implementation
Distributed Simulation, Virtual Environments and Real-time ApplicationsFor efficient collaboration between participants, eye gaze is seen as being critical for interaction. Video conferencing either does not attempt to support eye gaze (e.g. AcessGrid) or only approximates it in round table conditions (e.g. life size ...
