Published:10 December 2008Publication History

ABSTRACT

This beginner's course is aimed at the ambitious loner seeking to create independent animation without the luxury of a large budget or staff. Participants will learn professional production procedure and organization, geared to take their piece from concept to creation to festival submission. Topics covered will include production strategies for storyboarding, animatics and scratch-track creation, budget and scheduling, sound quality, viewing formats, editing and compositing, copyright issues, distribution and final submission to animation festivals. The emphasis will be on digital pre- and post-production concerns useful to all independent animators regardless of their chosen medium.
