This year's edition of the International Conference on Pervasive Services (ICPS 2009) will be held on the Imperial College campus in London, UK, July 13-16 2009. We hope that you will enjoy the conference program as well as the beautiful settings of IC in the heart of London. This year we decided to revamp the program based on suggestions and ideas we had while helping organizing last year's edition, and as a result a lot of extra work went into the truly collective effort of organizing the conference. A group of dedicated graduate students, post-docs and faculty members from different institutions volunteered their time to make this year's edition of ICPS successful.
Domenico Cotroneo and Mark Baker as program chairs were responsible for putting together an exciting program with the help of the members of the Program Committee. Marcello Cinque as Workshop Chair was instrumental in successfully managing the workshops. Johann Bourcier with some help from one of us (Julie) as Local Arrangements Chairs did an excellent job in arranging for the conference venue and the social events. The wide geographical representation of author nationalities is certainly to be credited to our dedicated Publicity Chairs, namely Dario Pompili and Ichiro Satoh.
The novelties in the program of the conference for this year were the addition of tutorials, and of a focused panel session. Marcello did a great job in soliciting and selecting proposals. One of us (Julie) was especially involved in recruiting participants for the main panel session, which will be moderated by Manish Parashar. Based on the success of the demo session we had last year (the first one at a ICPS conference), we are having another one such session this year; Christian Prehofer of Nokia did a great job of inviting proposals and selecting the most interesting ones. We are particularly grateful to Nokia for sponsoring the session and offering a prize for the best demonstration.
