The use of robust statistics to improve the prediction of software failure time

Abstract

In this paper, we introduce an approach to reduce the over-estimation of Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) by current software reliability models, specifically, the exponential class of models. The motivation, technique and the results of this approach are discussed.
