ABSTRACT
The course "CMPT 165 -- Introduction to Multimedia and the Internet" offered at Simon Fraser University suffers from having an un-cohesive structure and an excessive amount of material. In the Summer 2009 D200 section of the course, these issues were addressed; the material was restructured and pared down to the essentials. The result was a much more focused course, which, compared to a previous offering of the course under the same instructor (Spring 2009 D100), yielded substantial improvements in student performance and student satisfaction.
