ABSTRACT
This paper deals with a multiservice retrial queue with finite population, where the input process is characterized by the fact that each idle source generates arrivals independently and with the same exponentially distributed inter-arrival time of rate a. As a consequence of the retrial feature, the flow of repeated attempts is superimposed on the stream of primary arrivals, so both type of events become undistinguished. In this paper some aspects of this problem are considered. The distributions of the successful primary arrivals and retrials during a busy period are studied. Then, the transient behavior of these performance descriptors is investigated.

Fluid limits of many-server retrial queues with nonpersistent customers
This work considers a many-server retrial queueing system in which nonpersistent (impatient) customers with i.i.d., generally distributed service times and independent sequences of i.i.d., generally distributed inter-attempt times. A newly arrived ...
Busy period analysis for M/PH/1 queues with workload dependent balking
We consider an M / PH /1 queue with workload-dependent balking. An arriving customer joins the queue and stays until served if and only if the system workload is no more than a fixed level at the time of his arrival. We begin by considering a fluid ...
Busy period analysis of the level dependent PH/PH/1/K queue
In this paper, we study the transient behavior of a level dependent single server queuing system with a waiting room of finite size during the busy period. The focus is on the level dependent PH/PH/1/K queue. We derive in closed form the joint transform ...
